Final Implementation of the Windsor Framework set for 1st May

The Government has announced that the final implementation of the processes set out under the Windsor Framework will come into effect from 1st May.
As explained in our article here, the Windsor Framework was agreed in February 2023 to replace the Northern Ireland Protocol and set out the procedure for goods moving between Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The 1st May will mark the full implementation and is due to introduce the final set of easements.
For example, via the UK Internal Market Scheme businesses will be able to declare their ‘not at risk’ goods by inputting a simplified dataset (known as the Internal Market Movement Information), apply for Entry into Declarants Records (EIDR) approval, and make use of the Trade Goods Profile.
