Today (2nd November) the UK Government has opened a call for businesses to have their say on the UK-Turkey trade relationship.
The Call for Input is seeking the views of businesses and the public on negotiating a new, modernised free trade agreement (FTA) with Turkey.
Trade between the two countries reached £26 billion in the 12 months to June 2023, which makes Turkey a top 20 trading partner.
The current FTA with Turkey only covers the movement of goods based on provisions from the 1990s. The aim is that through re-negotiations, the UK and Turkey can agree on a modernised FTA which covers sectors such as services, tech and digital.
If a business would like to have their say, then the Call for Input can be found on the below link.
Please note, that the Call for Input closes at 10am on January 5th 2024.
